An exploration of the moors above Hurstwood and Cant Clough reservoirs, walking the Burnley Way and Pennine Bridleway. Weather permitting we will visit Hare Stones and on to Gorple reservoir and perhaps Rastrick Greave.
The main body of the route is gently undulating with excellent views. A wide variety of bird species live here so some opportunities for spotting may arise.
This is an open moorland walk in autumn, so it is strongly recommended that walkers have appropriate wet weather clothing and boots, as it can get muddy sometimes. Bring a packed lunch and a warm drink. Dogs on leads are welcome but are the responsibility of owners, as some livestock may be encountered. Some stiles might be met.
