We are the Preston Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Gentle fell walk over Hutton Roof and Farleton Fell with good views from Farleton Knot in particular. Mixture of woods, limestone pavement and canal walking on mainly good paths from the village of Burton in Kendal. 9.5 miles with some gentle climbs. Highest point 274m. We can hopefully end the walk with a drink at the local cafe or pub in the village.
Meet: road outside Burton Memorial Hall, Main Street. Post code LA6 1NA Directions: Exit M6 Junction 35. Take left turn onto A601M to A6. Then right at roundabout to continue north. At the next roundabout take second exit onto A6070 to Burton in Kendal. Go through the centre of the village. The Memorial Hall is on the left opposite a Primary School. Roadside parking only. about 35 miles from Preston 40 minutes.
