Overview

A varied route on footpaths, farm tracks and short sections of minor roads.  After ascent from Ilmington pass by Foxcote House to Ebrington, returning from Hidcote over highest hill in Warwickshire (exposed to cold winds).  Some sections will be slippery due to mud or possibly frozen ground.

Please bring a drink and packed lunch.  No toilet facilities at start or on route.  (NT Hidcote closed, pub in Ebrington, pubs and café in Community Shop in Ilmington but toilet facilities only available to customers).

Roadside parking on Back Street by St Mary’s Church. Car sharing recommended as parking spaces are limited.  Meet by church sign and noticeboard in Back Street.  A few additional spaces may be available on Front Street but please respect residential parking spaces.

If you would like to car share, we are meeting at Lady Byron Lane, Knowle (Old Warwick Road) Solihull B93 9AG (near J5 of the M42) for a departure time of 8:45 am. Lifts are subject to availability. This is a round trip of approx. 64 miles and a voluntary donation of £8 is considered to be a reasonable contribution towards the costs incurred by the driver.
