Overview

West Mendip Walkers moderate 8mile circular walk from the Ring O’Bells, Compton Martin (BS40 6JE). From the Ring O’Bells we climb through Compton Wood and Hazel Manor Wood to reach the escarpment of Charterhouse Ridge before passing Nordrach Lodge before making our way to the  industrial heritage of Charterhouse following which we walk over the fields of Rains Batch towards Blagdon enjoying spectacular views of Blagdon and Chew Valley Lakes as we walk along the ancient track of Leaze Lane. We walk through Hazel Manor woods dropping down into Compton Martin to return to our start point. The route does have some road walking but is generally dog friendly.
