Overview

The route is through varied, undulating countryside, with the eastern section along the banks of Bewl Water. There is a tricky crossing of the B 2099 south east of Wadhurst, where the path emerges from a thick hedge almost on to the road. Plenty of warning will be given. Approximately six stiles in all, depending on whether or not gates are padlocked.

The walk will start outside the Greyhound pub - free parking to the rear of the pub. There is normally plenty of room during school holidays. If it becomes full, there may be room in the square to the front of the Greyhound or down Washwell Lane which runs south between One Stop and the White Hart pub.
