Join us this Sunday for a lovely walk venturing over to Little Wenlock from Ironbridge covering terrain consistent with any walk begining in and around the Severn Valley, i.e, fairly lumpy. Just two stiles however, and a staircase (but not the one with 500+ steps!). Poles recommended if you have them for this moderate to strenuous walk at a gentle pace.
Toilets at the start and also at our coffee stop an hour or so into the walk. Pub afterwards before we head back home.
Please let us know if you're coming along beforehand so that we can keep an eye open for you. Thank you!
Directions via the M54 & A5 westbound:
The start is located on the north bank of the Severn just half a mile out of Ironbridge towards Buildwas.
From your location pick up the M54 westbound to Junction 4. Exit slip then left onto A464 for 1.25 miles then turn left at the second island to join the A422 south, direction Bridgnorth.
Continue for 3 miles (road becomes the A4169 after passing under the second flyover) then at the next conventional island turn left onto the B4373 signed for Madeley, Woodside, and Ironbridge Museums.
Follow the course of the B4373 for 2 miles through two islands and downhill into Ironbridge. At the third island head straight across and further downhill into Ironbridge High Street with the iron bridge visible on your left.
From this point proceed for 0.5 mile, past the museum, then over the mini-island, where the entrance to Dale End car park is on your left 100 yards later.
