Overview

This attractive urban and semi-rural walk follows the numerous green spaces between Kenilworth and south central Coventry. We take the waymarked Kenilworth Greenway to Crackley, initially following Finham Brook, and then branch off towards Warwick University.  We’ll stop for a drink/snack (BYO) by the lakes and then loosely follow Canley Brook through Tocil Wood, Gibbet Hill Wood and Canley Ford, eventually reaching the historic War Memorial Park (with café and public toilets). The walk is largely on well surfaced paths but there are muddy sections too.

It’s a linear walk so you’ll need to use public transport for at least part of your journey - the start and finish points have good bus and rail connections, see below.

If you prefer to drive part of the way Coventry Station car parks 1 and 3 are just 10 mins walk from the finishing point  (£5.50 daily charge, can be pre-booked).  Alternatively there are usually some parking spaces on Earlsdon Avenue South or thereabouts (towards junction with Kenilworth Road, X17 and 11 bus stops nearby). War Memorial Park car parks will be busy as the Park Run is from 09.00-10.00.
