Come and join me on this linear railway walk through lovely Worcestershire countryside.
Parking at Blakedown Station (free), we will take the 10.54 train to Kidderminster - fare £2.60 or £1.70 with railcard.
From Kidderminster Station we will go through some urban streets, cross a golf course, then head into open country. The walk takes us through fields, woodland, alongside streams and up the only climb, to Barnett Hill, from where there are excellent views. This will be our lunch stop before descending to Blakedown and a quiet path to the station. We will use paved footways, tracks, field and woodland paths and a quiet lane. There are only 4 stiles.
There are toilets at Kidderminster Station, otherwise rural. After the walk there will be the opportunity to have refreshments in the Old House at Home pub.
