Overview

Meeting just outside of Kildale at 10:15. Starting with a long climb (1.5 miles), part of the Cleveland Way. Then onto Baysdale Abbey, over to Leven dale, then into Little Kildale Wood before heading back through Kildale back to the cars. 70% on paved tracks. 3 hills making up 1110 ft of climb. The walk is 7miles through some lovely moorland and woods, good views.

This is a pretty strenuous walk in places but most of the walking is on clearly defined tracks/roads. A little road walking but with pavement and wide verges.

Start of walk is next to gate on left hand side before the village, large open verge for parking. Please do not block the access to the gate. Alternatively walkers can meet at usual meeting place for Darlington Rambler at Vane Terrace, Darlington at 9:30 . Walkers who want to meet at the start of the walk at 10:15 should message the walk leader so he knows to expect them there.
