This is a moderate 7 mile walk starting from Ab Kettleby, visiting the villages of Saxelbye, Grimston and Wartnaby. Points of interest include Grimston Church with its wooden framed 16th century clock and Wartnaby House, previously owned by Lord King, a former Chairman of British Airways. We will pass Webster’s Dairy, manufacturers of Stilton, the king of English cheeses.
PLEASE NOTE: There are 17 stiles on this walk. They are all in good condition and relatively easy to negotiate.
Please contact the Leader to let them know that you are coming on the walk. Please leave your name, contact telephone number and email address. Please also state whether you intend going to the designated meeting place or directly to the start of the walk. This will help ensure that you are not left behind. This should not be regarded as “booking a place on the walk.”
If you later find that you cannot come on the walk, please notify the Leader as soon as possible in order that the group is not waiting for you to arrive on the day.
There will be refreshment stops, and a lunch-time break, so bring some food and drink.
Looking forward to your company on this delightful walk in a pleasant area.
