Please note this is a long rural walk, so make sure you have plenty of food and water. It looks like parking is available in the nearby residential roads if needed and Kingsclere does not have a train station. We start in Kingsclere and head south across Freemantle Park Down and on to the Wayfarer’s Walk. From here we head into Great Deane Wood then into Steventon which is the birthplace of Jane Austen. We will then visit St Nicholas, Church where Jane Austen was baptised and spent the first 25 years of her life. We will retrace our steps for a while then head into East Oakley for a pub stop for drink and use the toilet. We will find a place to stop for a packed lunch before the pub. From the pub we head north into the countryside along footpaths and open countryside before our second pub stop in Hannington. Then it’s back to Kingsclere.
