This is a fine walk in an undulating landscape, with good views across Leicestershire and Rutland. We start by heading south towards Loddington. We then follow a bridle track eastwards, skirting Launde Park Wood. A section of the Leicestershire Round takes us north into Leighfield, before we return to Launde Abbey on the tarmac lane. There are a couple of hills to negotiate, but the walking is generally good - on lanes, farm tracks and field edges. Very few stiles on this circuit.
As this is a relatively short walk, a picnic lunch is not required. We will have a brief coffee stop half way round. Launde Abbey does have a rather splendid cafe (drinks, sandwiches etc) if you fancy some refreshments at the end.
Additional Information:
Dogs are accepted on this walk, but must be on leads at all times.
