Overview

This is a joint coach trip with Slough U3A to visit Lewes. This visit coincides with Lewes Art Wave exhibition. There are many other attractions in this delightful market town on the South Downs, Lewes Castle, The Priory, Vanessa Bell exhibition plus the many shops and cafes scattered around the town. Friday is also market day, (Morning only) There is also an optional walk.

Walk- Lewes and Kingston. This is a moderate walk with ups and downs from Lewes to Kingston and beyond to touch briefly on the South Downs Way. Please bring a picnic lunch to eat in Kingston, close to the Juggs Pub. The route back into Lewes passes through the site of the ancient Priory. You will have some time to explore Lewes in the afternoon

Meet in the free Upton Court car park, Upton Court Road at 8.45am to board the coach which will depart at 9am. The journey time is 1 hour 30 minutes and there are toilets very close to where the coach drops us off. The return journey wull leave Lewes at 4pm/
