This is a 11.5 mile walk through a visibly ancient landscape which embraces some of the high arable land of the chalk downs, climbs through the chalk downs, potential views over historic landscapes together with secluded woodland. Along the way we will enjoy sections of the Watership Down Trail, the ancient Harroway and the Roman Portway.
This is a truly 'rural' walk with the only shelter being that provided by the trees. Refreshment breaks will be open to the elements.
The route follows a total ascent / descent of some 1,200 feet with only 3 stiles to impede our progress

Parking is available in Litchfield opposite the church. There is a small layby and additional space, but please park considerately - there is a working farm and access to 'The Village' to be aware of.
