We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will assemble in the far west end of the car park for LIttlecote House Hotel, reached by following the car park around the southern site of the house and parking as far over to the west as possible but before the roman villa foundations. From there we will walk on gently rising ground through the park to the west, through the edge of Bottom Coppice, loop north to Elmdown Farm and then use the minor road south passing Bridge and Darrel's Farm. We will pause at the memorial on the old WW2 Ramsbury Airfield for coffee but remember this is a windswept place so if it is inclement we may take a break earlier. We will then plunge over the airfield perimeter north down hill towards the river Kennet where we may catch a glimpse of the old bridge and the Ramsbury Manor. Just before the meandering river we will turn due east and return to Littlecote via the river bank walk.
If anyone has not seen the Roman villa foundations and mosaic floor I suggest they do so at the end of the walk. It is well worth 15 mins. You can get coffee at the hotel but it is getting busier. I am grateful to Warner Leisure Littlecote House Hotel for permission to use their car park today.

From the Aldbourne/Swindon road out of Hungerford, take the turn for Littlecote House Hotel and follow the car park road around the southern edge to the far end.
