Join us for a lovely walk along the Devon Way which follows the old line of the Devon Valley Railway. Enjoy lovely tree- lined sections and stunning views of the surrounding countryside with the Ochil Hills in the background.
The walk starts at Alloa Railway Station. There is an Asda Supermarket beside the station with toilets and a cafe.
We leave the station and cross the railway bridge to join the Devon Way which is cycle route 767. The path passes through part of Sauchie and then enters a lovely tree-lined path out into the country.
After passing under two bridges we reach a junction where the left hand turn leads to an Equestrian Centre and the Devon Way continues straight ahead. After a few miles we reach Tillicoultry, one of the six hillfoot towns strung along the southern edge of the Ochil Hills.
Turning right over the bridge we enter the outlet village where we have a lunch break.
We rejoin the cycle path which is tree-lined with the hills on our left and the River Devon on our right. After three miles we reach the outskirts of Dollar and continue until we reach the old station platform and the path leads up to the town centre where the walk ends.
There are cafes and a hotel there where refreshments can be taken.
