This will be a lovely walk through Eglinton Country Park . There are good paths, either tarmac or hardcore, along the way although the path has puddles in many places. We ascend two slight inclines leading to some excellent views. Also look out for some interesting objects along the way including a woolly mammoth and a sycamore seed sculpture.
Walk starts at 11am approx at Eglinton Country Park.
We leave the visitor centre turn left and follow the blue marker around the park. At the Tournament Bridge (white bridge) We cross the river to a picnic area where we have lunch. We cross back over the bridge and follow the yellow marker now continuing till we come to a suspension bridge which we cross and turn right. At the Laundry bridge we cross the river again and pass Eglinton Castle and continue back to the visitor centre.
Walk finishes at 2:15pm approx.
Boots are essential but poles are optional.
There are toilets at the beginning but no tea/coffee facilities. Cafe and toilets at end of walk but they close at 3.30pm.
Coach gets back to Chatelherault at 4:30pm depending on volume of traffic
