Train based walk.

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Marple Station.
Transport to Walk Start: 09:48 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Marple. This will be a busy train going to Sheffield via Edale, so get on as soon as it arrives at the platform.
Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Marple £7:30.
Walk Start: At the car park at Marple Station at 10:15.
Waypoints: Marple Locks, Aqueduct, Lower Watermeetings Farm, Etherow Country Park, Ernocroft Wood, Ernocroft, Mill Brow, Mellor Church, Linnet Clough, Roman Lakes/Mellor Mill, Peak Forest Canal, Lime Kilns.
Return Services: xx:07, xx:40.
Extra: There may be toilets at Marple Station. Assume no toilet on the train. There are toilets at around 2 and 3 miles. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).
Starting and ending at Marple Station, we'll go via Marple Locks, where the footpath is open again. Just after the Aqueduct, we’ll descend to the River Etherow, and go through Etherow Country Park, where there are toilets. We’ll then go up through Ernocorft Wood to Ernocroft, then Mill Brow, and end up at Mellor Church, returning to Marple Station via Linnet Clough, Roman Lakes, the Peak Forest Canal, and the Lime Kilns.
