Leaving the car park, we will take a loop through fields to the village of Merthyr Mawr.
We then continue to Ogmore Castle where we’ll have an early coffee break. From there, we’ll ascend the hill, skirting the golf course en route to St. Brides Major.
Having gone through the village, we’ll descend to Dunraven Bay (lunch stop) and return via the Heritage Coast Path.
N.B. We will be passing through livestock so the walk is unsuitable for dogs.
Social after walk:
Afterwards we will visit a local hostelry.

N.B. Leader reports road works affecting travel to the start:
When travelling east along the A48, the usual route to the startling point is closed due to bridge repairs.
As an alternative, take the narrow road off the A48 (about 200 metres before the Merthyr Mawr turn).
Follow this for about a mile and it will bring you out in the village of Merthyr Mawr. Turn right and the road leads to the car park.
Alternatively, continue on the A48.
At the second roundabout turn right towards Ewenny.
Turn right after the pottery.
This will bring you on to Merthyr Mawr road.
Go straight across at the junction.
The car park is at the end of this road.
If travelling from Junction 35 of the M4 the route is unaffected.
