"The first section of the West Highland Way is something of a prelude through the landscapes of the Lowlands. The urban landscape is left behind at Milngavie as the route passes lochs and woodland before dropping into Strathblane in the shadow of the Campsie Fells"
The Beech Tree Inn is the first cafe stop on the West Highland Way, just 7.5 miles from the start in Milngavie. The walk will take around 2-3 hours and we can get food & drink at the Beech Tree Inn afterwards. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, there are also picnic benches outside the cafe.
