Overview

Great Longstone to Little Longstone, and on into Bakewell. Then back via Ashford in the Water, Shacklow Woods, and Monsal Dale.

Walking rolling fields and woods between Monsal Dale on our way via Gt/Lt Longstone villages into Bakewell and the River Wye. Climbing out of Bakewell via back roads, before returning to the River Wye and onto Ashford. Then exploring an abandoned unique water mill a stones throw from the River Wye, with a dark history. Finishing by climbing out of Monsal Dale back above the viaduct. Along with spring flowers there is a chance to see the rare parasitic plant known as the Toothwort, or the 'Corpse flower'.
