A perfect winter walk from Woolstone along the Ouzel river to the historic village of Simpson returning alongside the Grand Union Canal. The walk takes us through green spaces on well maintained and largely dry paths. There are no hills and no stiles and no busy roads to cross. Most of the paths are away from traffic.
The walk starts from the Barge Inn on Newport Road in Woolstone. There is ample car parking just beyond the pub. If you wish to stay for lunch, you must contact me on the Monday before the walk as the pub will be busy with Christmas meals and the provisional booking for a table needs to be confirmed with numbers. Assistance dogs only as some field may have livestock.
