Circular walk starting from The Stables Mortonhall car park. Through the golf courses to reach Howe Dean Path leading down to the valley of the Braid Burn. Then rising up into Millennium Wood to reach the Royal Observatory. From there we head down to Blackford Pond, along Charterhall Road climbing steps (approx. 75) up to Blackford Hill Grove to reach the Harrison Arch. Then past the University campus onto Mayfield Road, then the A701 for a short distance before turning off towards Liberton Tower and back to Mortonhall.
Option for coffee after the walk.

Elevation gain approx 900ft
Grassy paths and tracks and some pavement walking. Some roads to cross and care needed near the golf courses.
Some areas may be muddy/slippery. Walking poles and gators may be helpful.
Some steep ascent and descent and several steps.
Meeting point MIBC EH22 1JD @ 9.30am.
Starting point The Stables Mortonhall car park EH16 6TJ @ 10am.
