This is a circular route starting and ending at Netherwitton. It is mostly over open countryside, following well worn footpaths and cart tracks with some heathland walking. By and large it is over flat terrain with the usual undulations but nothing serious.
The main issue at the time of the recce was mud. Not serious, dangerous of hazardous mud just wet, clingy, unsightly mud. After the very wet winter that even now still abounds and which definitely influenced the recce walk, our boots were seriously muddy. The worst of the mud was towards the end and was confined to a short but unavoidable stretch.
Take gaiters, a change of shoes to return and poles if available.
If the weather dries up before the walk then this will be a lovely tranquil day out for the group. Fingers crossed.
