A re-run of the nice straightforward walk we did in summer from the middle of Oxford (Osney Island) where there's free on-street parking and we can walk along the river, around Port Meadow and stop for a drink at the Perch (optional pub stop at the end at The Punter).
*** PARKING UPDATE ***
Sorry I've just realised that the parking is free when we normally walk but this walk is on a Friday (and not bank holiday). Parking is limited to two hours (no return in two hours). I can't say whether or not it will be enforced from 3pm on a Friday so please note that this is at your own risk of a ticket. There is a small parking area around the corner or find alternative parking such as the park and ride.
Please leave plenty of time as it gets dark really early at the moment and I want to leave at 1pm.
If you have any questions please email me on chair@hikeoxfordshire.org
This is a short walk designed for new starters but everyone is welcome.
** NOTE: This is just the Meetup event, members of the Hike Oxfordshire group will be attending but may not appear on this event
https://hikeoxfordshire.org/
Non-Ramblers members are welcome and are able to attend 3 walks before joining the organization.
Please arrive ready to leave at 13:00.
Don't forget that the Botley road is closed further down at the railway bridge - access is fine coming down the Botley road, but you won't be able to drive through town to get to the start point.
