From the car park we head north on the Grand Union canal until we reach Whilton Locks.
We then walk over field tracks until we reach our coffee stop at Whilton Church.
Whilst there, it might be of interest to read of the heroism of local man Captain Henry Reynolds, VC MC, who won both medals for conspicuous bravery in 1917 in the Belgian trenches.
Carrying on, the walk sees us arrive in the village of Little Brington and our lunch stop at the Saracen's Head.
After lunch, a good track eventually takes us over the M1 motorway and back to the canal which we follow for a little over a mile, then back to the cars; if time allows, there'll be the chance of the ladies looking round the shops while the gents take a coffee (or vice-versa)...
