Overview

This walk will accommodate half and full day walkers.

The morning walk follows an anti-clockwise route linking the Churnet Valley Way, Earls Rock, Dimmingsdale and Mathers Wood. (5.5 miles)

In the afternoon we will stroll up Cotton Dell returning through Money Stones, Crowtrees and Carr Wood (a further 3.5 miles).

Several historical points of interest en route include the Talbot dog and the lost coaching road.

The terrain is a mixture of moorland, lanes and woodland tracks. Winter 'terms and conditions apply' so poles may be useful.

Any hills will be taken at a leisurely pace with plenty of stops for a breather - if required.

Lunch will be near the Cricketer's Pub near the car park.
