Overview

This is a walk through the flat arable farmland between Odder and South Carlton adjacent to the Catchwater Drain.  If the weather is fine there will be good views of Lincoln Cathedral and across to the Trent Valley power stations.  On the pre-walk the Red Arrows were practising overhead. The route makes use of Bridleways and lanes some of which have be stoned/ paved.

Starting Place: Outside the A57 Café, Odder (next to Keith Arnold Cars) between Saxilby and Burton Waters. Please park on the road (old A57). Postcode LN1 2BB Grid Ref. SK 924747 (OS Explorer 272). What3words: rebel.payout.relieves. Directions: Take your preferred route to Saxilby but do not go into the village. Stay on A57 travelling towards Lincoln to Odder. Look for A57 Café signs on the road side. Turn Left onto the old A57. Note: the turning is approx 1 mile after the Odder place name sign. Café: The popular Colbourne’s Café will be open both before and after the walk. The food, whilst simple, is good.
