Overview

We walk up to the top of the downs, using paths through the nature reserve and then footpaths, tracks up to Giants Grave, and its trig point, via Oare Hill.  This is a steep ascent.    We descend steeply at first, using a track which has some exposed chalk, to a quiet lane to Milkhouse Water.  Then paths and tracks round the back of Jones’ Mill Nature Reserve to return to the Bouverie Hall.  Good views are expected

Expect stiles and some mud.  Poles may be helpful.  There may be livestock enroute.

Bring refreshments for one stop.  We will be back for lunch.
