Overview

From North Pickenham Community Hub we make our way across fields to join The Peddars Way. We follow this route through South Pickenham then turning eastwards to continue over fields to the outskirts of Ashill with good views of the surrounding Norfolk countryside. From here we make our way via a minor road and footpath to St. Mary’s church, Houghton on the Hill. Here we will pause the walk for about half an hour to meet a guide who will tell us the fascinating story of this church’s restoration. We then continue across fields to return to Pickenham hub and their wonderful cafe where light refreshments can be purchased at extremely reasonable prices.

PLEASE NOTE. We will need to keep a moderate pace throughout this walk to allow us to keep to our time schedule.
