Overview

This walk heads east and then south around the Ponsticill reservoir and alongside the Brecon Mountain railway track (hopefully including a coffee stop at the station).  On reaching the edge of Pontsticill, the walk will head north-east climbing sharply before becoming undulating as it skirts the edge of Cefn yr Ystrad, likely stopping at the quarry for lunch.  From the quarry, the walk will head down to the Bryn Oer tramway and follow the path around the head of the valley (note that there are steep drops on this section of the walk).  Eventually, the tramway joins another path and the walk heads back to the start point past the Dolygaer activity centre.

The lay-by near the bridge between the Pontsticill and Pentwyn reservoirs. If full, there is a car park to the west (turn left at the junction south of the lay-by, and the car park is on the right); there is a path through from the car park to the lay-by (or you can use the road if overgrown). I would advice not using the post code as I've no idea where it will take you.
