West Mendip Walkers moderate 8.8 mile circular walk from Priddy Village Hall (BA5 3BE). The walk commences in a south easterly direction downhill followed by a walk up a gentle slope to a moderately busy road. There is evidence of lead mining in the fields with a view of Priddy Nine Barrows on the horizon as one passes through the fields leading to the road. We cross the road and follow a track through Lower Pitts Farm to reach Dursdon Drove and walk along a grassy track to eventually reach the edge of the Mendip escarpment. The walk then takes an easterly direction before making its way steeply downhill on ancient trackway. Walkers may notice uneven lines in the fields caused by mediaeval ploughing known as Strip Lynchets. At Tynings Lane we head back uphill in a north east direction crossing the Old Bristol Road through fields past Pen Hill Farm to eventually reach the Pen Hill transmitter. We circumnavigate the transmitter and head in a westerly direction to once again cross the Old Bristol Road and pick up a path heading in a north west direction back to our starting point.
