Important: this walk will only take place if the walk leader cancels her planned Ilmington walk due to hot weather. It will be confirmed or cancelled by Friday evening and this webpage updated by 8.00pm Friday, barring any technical issues.
Join us for a walk on the shady side ! This walk is designed with hot sunny weather in mind - starting at 9.30 am, it’s mainly within Bubbenhall, Wappenbury and Ryton woods and their connecting woodland corridors, with dappled shade for a good part of the walk. There are no stiles. All the woods are nature reserves and there are some attractive pools too.
The 5.5 mile walk - this excludes Ryton Wood. The last mile will need to be self-guided but it’s easy to navigate as it follows our outward route exactly, and the walk leader can provide a route map if needed.
Despite the trees it will be a hot day and we’re likely to get some strong sun in places - come well prepared, with lots of water, a hat and sun protection. The 8.5 mile walk will include a designated lunch stop (bring your own).
The Three Horseshoes pub is a short stroll from our meeting place.
If you have any queries about this walk please contact the walk leader by using the "Get in touch about this walk" email link.
