Join me for a walk in attractive Sussex countryside with views of the South Downs. We will pass through the water meadows of Amberley Wildbrooks before pausing for a lunch stop at the pretty village of Amberley. Please bring a packed lunch due to time constraints, but there is a pub, tea shop and village shop for drinks etc. Our route out of the village is via a quiet road for about half a mile before returning to fields and woodland. We pass through the grounds of Parham House with it's landscaped deer park then Parham airfield where we may see gliders launching. We return to the station via Pulborough Brooks RSPB nature reserve. Terrain is mainly flat apart from a few gentle slopes. Amberley Brooks is boggy underfoot in places.
No booking required.
Dropout. Amberley station is about 2 miles from the village. The walk goes in the opposite direction but self navigation is fairly straightforward if you needed to abandon the walk at lunch time.
The finishing time is an estimate only and is dependent on a number of factors such as the weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
