A public transport walk in a delightful area of north Nottinghamshire jointly organised by the Ramblers Lincolnshire Area and the Community Rail Partnerships.
Catch the train from Lincoln, Saxilby, Gainsborough Lea Road to Retford. Train departs: Lincoln 0826, Saxilby 0836, Gainsborough Lea Road 0848 to arrive Retford at 0900.
Our route follows public footpaths along the River Idle, through Whisker Hill golf course, Babworth church connected with the Pilgrim Fathers, along Green Mile Lane and return to the station along the ‘Cuckoo Way’ using the Chesterfield Canal towpath.
