Leaving Ramsgill we head for Bouthwaite and join the 6 Dales Trail for a fairly steep climb following the course of Lul Beck onto Fountains Earth Moor. We will pass Sypeland Crags finally reaching the high point of Writhen Stone. As we descend to Lofthouse there are views across to Jenny Twig and her daughter Tib. We return to Ramsgill across fields.
Possible highlights of this walk:- heather in bloom, moorland birds and butterflies.
