Overview
Meet at the Maiwand Lion in Forbury Gardens, nearest Post Code: RG1 3BB, for a short circular walk through the Abbey ruins & pat the old Gaol. No Stiles. Along the Kennet we pass Blakes Lock & look for signs of Reading's industrial past along the river, to the junction with the R Thames; across the Horseshoe Bridge & back along the Thames Path past the Lido. Possible walk across the weir to see the new Hydro plant on View Island, on to Reading bridge & back to the start.
