Join us for a brisk (2.5-3 miles/hour) gently undulating ramble from Borough Green to Wateringbury, taking in portions of the Wealdway, Greensand Way and Medway Valley Walk.
Exiting Borough Green, we head through villages and pick up the Wealdway through woodlands old and new, catching dramatic views here and there, we follow the Greensand Way along and over ridges, past village churches, stately homes and a deer park.
Having reached the river close to Yalding (optional drop out point, train back via Paddock Wood), we pick up the Medway Valley Walk, surveying the riverboats, water lilies and bird life before taking the train back from Wateringbury via Paddock Wood.
We will stop for lunch on the green at West Peckham at about 1230 - please bring a packed lunch. The Swan on the Green pub will be open for drinks and toilets.
At the end of the walk, for those that wish to stay on for a drink, there is an option to stop off at The Railway pub close to Wateringbury station.
Drop out points: Yalding after approx. 10 miles
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
