Overview

Starting at Keeper’s Pond car park, this walk follows some old tramways as part of the circuit of the Blorenge, and includes visiting the striking geological feature that is the Punchbowl.

There are a couple of steep ascents (and descents), and some parts can be quite muddy in wet weather, but it’s walkable with appropriate footwear.

For car sharing from Chepstow meet at Chepstow Leisure Centre before 9.00, or otherwise go directly to the start.

Head to Raglan then take the A 40 towards Abergavenny. Take the A465 Heads of the Valleys road, then take the first exit, signposted B4246 to Blaenavon. Follow the B4246 towards Blaenavon for 4 miles, and the car park is on the left just before the top of the hill.
