We are the Hampshire 40+ Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We'll head out through Stansted Forest towards the main house and Lumley Seat. Passing through West Marden and into more woodland before skirting around the back of Old Idsworth Church, we return via Forestside. A pretty walk with nice views in places. Undulating, not hilly.
Mainly footpaths, tracks with short sections of quiet lanes. Could be muddy if we've had rain - bring walking poles if you find these useful for brief climbs/descents.
The odd style to navigate.
Please bring refreshments for two stops and something to sit on if the ground is damp.
Parking available at the Recreation Ground or on the road side.
We'll meet on the green near to the Bumblebee Cafe (open from 9a.m)
Dogs and well behaved owners welcome.
This walk is accessible by train/bus.
