Overview

Start from Birling Road in front of Ryarsh Village Hall EX148.  Park on the road, not in the hall car park. We walk through Ryarsh Woods and visit the Coldrum Stones, a Neolithic burial site.  We walk across fields to the attractive Trottiscliffe church and then a gentle climb to the Pilgrim's Way, which we follow for about 1.5 miles.  We then descend to Birling for lunch at the Nevill Bull.  After lunch we return to Ryarsh by field paths.  A fairly easy walk with no steep hills.
