We are the Cirencester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the church we walk through the pretty village and then for about a mile along a wide footpath with fields on both sides and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Then along a very quiet country road for one and half miles first on the flat and then a gentle uphill. At the end of the road we cross over to go through the grounds of Salperton Park. Our refreshment break will be overlooking the house which is owned by The Houghton Family and where you can stay in one of its 10 bedrooms. We then walk along the outskirts of Salperton Park and along a wide footpath with great views on the left reaching the small and lovely village of Lower Hampen. After walking through the village and farm we will cross the road we walked earlier. We go straight across to a wide footpath with more great views on both sides of the surrounding countryside to join up with a farm road back to Shipton Oliffe. No stiles, gentle climbs.
