We are the Kingswood Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Carole has invited Kingswood Ramblers to join with her and Bath Ramblers in a walk.
***Please note 5.5 and 7 mile options below, to cater for ground conditions on the day. Park and Ride likely to be busy, but there is an Overflow Car Park, off Car Park B***
If we can avoid very muddy conditions on the river path at Saltford, (Saturday recce planned), we'll walk along the river path to Saltford and stop there briefly for drinks/snacks and toilet stop (20p). Then, we'll join the Bristol and Bath Railway Path back to the Park and Ride. Total distance 5.5 miles of easy, level walking - estimated finish time: 1.30 pm.
If there are very muddy conditions at Saltford which can't be avoided, we'll use a different route - along the railway path to Avon Riverside Station, just beyond Saltford, for our coffee stop, and then retrace our steps back along the railway path. Total distance 7 miles.
If we use the 5.5 mile Saltford route, once back at Newbridge, there could be an optional extra gentle undulating 2 mile walk in the Carrs Wood/Newton Mill area.
Bring a drink/snacks for the coffee stop. You may also like to bring lunch.
Optional refreshments at The Boathouse pub after the walk.
Meet outside toilet block at Newbridge Park and Ride, BA1 3NB. We will be out for over 3 hours, so car drivers need to pay MiPermit £2.00, which covers parking all day. Parking fee can be paid in advance, or via your mobile at the car park, or when you get home.
