Join me on this walk through an oasis of greenery and wildlife in the heart of the West Midlands conurbation. Although never far from the noise of the motorways, the Country Park provides easy walking on mostly well-made paths through a variety of habitats – forests, lakes, ponds and grassland. Our walk begins at Sot’s Hole Nature Reserve and leads us through quieter areas of the Country Park before reaching the newly refurbished Visitor Centre where we will take our morning break. After crossing over the M5 we will pass through Priory Wood en route to the Priory Ruins and the Sand Well. We pass Swan Lake and Forge Mill Lake to reach our lunch break at the RSPB Visitor Centre.
