Overview

A lovely, mostly flat walk along the slopes of the Sapperton Valley. No stiles but two steep climbs and some scrambling around a large fallen tree. We begin by following the Macmillan Way along the south westerly slopes of the Sapperton valley to Pinbury Park. There we cross the river Coln and climb a steep gravely path into Hen Wood. Now on the northern side of the valley we walk through Dorvel Wood to Dane Banks for a short break. From there we go through Sicarage Wood before we drop down to the disused Thames and Severn canal. We follow the towpath to the entrance of the Sapperton tunnel before climbing up a steep slope back to our starting point.1 refreshment break
