This leisurely 7 mile walk starts and finishes at Danzey railway station deep in the Warwickshire countryside and will start at 10 15. We follow field paths and bridleways through ancient woodland, with distant views of the Cotswolds, to the lovely village of Tanworth in Arden with its village green and ancient church, where singer-songwriter Nick Drake and motor racing Mike Hailwood are buried. We will break for lunch in Tanworth in Arden then return to Danzey via the grounds of 17th century Umberslade Hall. We expect to finish the walk at around 2 45 pm.
For those arriving by rail you can catch the 9:21 from Smethwick Galton Bridge, calling at 09:39 at Birmingham Moor Street arriving at 10:13 at Danzey. It is also possible to catch the 08:55 from Wolverhampton, arriving at Birmingham New Street , or the 08:50 from Walsall arriving at Birmingham New Street 09:12 and then do the 5 minute walk across to Moor Street to catch this train. For those arriving by car very limited parking available at Danzey railway station - car sharing is encouraged.

We are aiming to catch the 15:03 from Danzey, arriving at 15:41 at Birmingham Moor street and 15:55 at Smethwick Galton Bridge. It is possible to leave the train at Moor Street and connect with the 16:01 to Wolverhampton and the 16:00 to Walsall.
