We start and finish in the chocolate box perfect village of Ombersley with its fine church and fine half timbered and Georgian buildings. We walk through rolling countryside past Westwood House, a former Elizabethan banqueting hall, to skirt the town of Droitwich and join the Droitwich Canal. After lunch in the churchyard of the 10th century St Michael and all angels, where there are plenty of benches, we strike out across the fields back to Ombersley – where there are three pubs, including the excellent Crown & Sandys where we are welcome to park for free (and the leaders can vouch for the quality of their cappuccino and Hereford Pale Ale) and a café.
The walk is leisurely with no significant climbs and only a few stiles. Please take care when we cross the busy A449 dual carriageway.
