This is a relatively easy walk with fairly level terrain and on relatively good tracks and paths. Fewer stiles than usual in a walk around Tetbury. Definitely in horse country, we set off from the pretty village of Shipton Moyne to Tetbury through the Escourt estate and its many paddocks (thankfully, with gates rather than stiles) to Tetbury with its imposing church spire. We then head across country towards Long Newnton, before returning to the start point again through the Escourt estate.
The best way to Shipton Moyne is by the A46 and A 433 towards Tetbury. After passing Westonbirt Arboretum, look for the left turn signposted Shipton Moyne just before the Hare and Hound Hotel. Park in The Street, the main road through the village, as near as possible to the Cat and Custard Pot Inn.
Bring refreshments for the walk. There is the possibility of a diversion to the public toilets in Tetbury if necessary.
