PLEASE NOTE BUS TIMES HAVE CHANGED. NOW 10 MINUTES EARLIER.
Louth to Grimsby walk, Friday 27th June.
The Johnson Silver Lincs Way was devised to be 25 miles to celebrate the 25 years of the Grimsby & Louth Group being formed. It runs from Grimsby to Louth but is not the shortest route. On the 27th June I am leading a shorter route of 18 miles as a challenge walk. It will start from St. James Church, Louth and finish at Scartho Roundabout like the J.S.L.W. and will take in some of the same grassed footpaths and avoid road walking as much as possible.
It will start at 09-45 to allow Grimsby walkers to use the No. 51 bus from Grimsby to Louth which will come past Scartho Roundabout at about 08-40 and pick up at the Rose and Crown bus stop. Cars can be left at the car park on Waltham Road about 100 metres from Scartho Roundabout. The number 51 will also pick up at Holton Le Clay, North Thoresby, Ludborough and several stops in between.
For anyone living in the Louth area, buses returning to Louth run on an hourly basis can be caught at 20 minutes to the hour.
Although it is a challenge walk it will be a group walk and it is expected to take about 6 1/2 hours. Any queries look at the Grimsby and Louth website or contact me in a private message or in an email.
If the heatwave continues the route may be shortened, please check just before the day.
Regards Sid Mill
