This is a favourite coastal walk for many of our members, taking in a train ride from Carlisle and walking along the cliffs and taking in the sea views. Depending on when we arrive in Whitehaven, we may have refreshments at the Bransty Arch whilst awaiting our return train.
For those travelling by train from Carlisle, we get the 09.02 that arrives at St Bees station at 10.20 where the walk starts.
There are public toilets (free the last time visited) near the start of the walk.
We should have lots of time to enjoy the walk along the sea cliffs, have our packed lunch near a lighthouse and see some evidence of the present industry along the way.
